Now that we've found love, what are we gonna do with it? (cont.)

Mark 12:41-44

(Read the above scripture. ..and check out the last post if you haven’t already)

Ask yourself. .. What does it mean to give up everything? (what does everything mean to you? Material things?)

Notice that Jesus ONLY responded to the widow’s giving (He huddled the disciples to point her out as an example). . Everyone else gave out of their abundance. .she gave everything. The scripture says she gave her livelihood. So, in essence, she gave her life. . Wow.

A person doesn’t just randomly give up everything. Think about it. .. A person only gives up everything after weighing the options of what they’d receive in return. Does that make sense? (For example, if your house is on fire, you briefly weigh the options. . The options being: let your stuff burn up/run and save ur life or attempt to save your things/risk your life. In that brief moment you decide that you’ll let EVERYTHING burn and save your life. You made the decision that your life was worth more than all that.)

This widow weighed the options. .she had experienced God’s love and decided it was worth giving up EVERYTHING! The awesome thing about giving everything (your ALL) to God is that you always come out winning. The Love of Christ is worth more than everything else!

Think about the other empty relationships you pour everything into. . Take a moment to think about the empty feeling you walked away with.

The GOOD NEWS is that when you give everything to God, He never leaves you empty!

Now that we've found love, what are we gonna do with it?

We discussed the (true) definition of intimacy —>

Intimacy: something of a personal or private nature.  We have to get away from defining intimacy as having sex with someone (keep it real, that’s what we all think when we hear that word). That is NOT what that means. Intimacy means to know the deep things about someone. Intimacy is a personal relationship. You can not be intimate with someone you do not spend time with. Intimacy also includes trust because it requires giving your all to another person. Make sense?

Bible Text: Mark 12:41-44  <— Read This (this is bible study! Don’t be afraid to read the bible! Read it a few times…expect the Lord to reveal something to you!)

Notice that Jesus said “..this poor widow has given more than all the others ..”. Why would He say that? Why was her contribution so special? because she was the only one who gave everything she had! She was the only one who sacrificed to give. Pay attention to the fact that all the other people giving were rich and gave out of their surplus but she gave ALL she had.

Let’s look at another thing Jesus said (because clearly everything that comes out of Jesus’ mouth should be paid much attention). Look at how He said “I tell you the truth (assuredly), this poor widow …” Why would Jesus say, “i tell you the truth”? We could pretty much assume that everything Jesus says is going to be the truth, right? But He specifically said that ..meaning that this woman’s life was what it looked like to live the truth! Her relationship was what a true relationship with Christ looked like ..so much so that He gathered His disciples to teach them a lesson based on this poor woman’s life. Would Jesus be able to look at your life and say “i tell you the truth ..”??

(I know you’re wondering what that has to do with intimacy and what any of this has to do with title LOL. But stay with us, we’re going somewhere…i promise! And the Holy Spirit is leading so trust that we’re only being directed into more truth!)

What does this have to do with intimacy? this poor widow had an intimate personal relationship with Jesus. How do we know that? Well let’s go back to the Word. the end of vs. 44 tells us that she gave everything she had to live on. She trusted Jesus that much! Where does that type of trust come from? Let me tell you where it DOESN’T come from. It doesn’t come from casual encounter .. it comes from intimate relationship. This woman had become one with Jesus .. we know this because she gave Him her ALL! That’s what Jesus requires.

The poor widow found that Love ..and she was all in! Now that you’ve found His love, what are you going to do with it?

WELCOME

Heyhey ladies! We now have a place where we can recap the week’s bible study!! We will be posting the text and audio of the bible study each week. However, this is not, by any means, a reason to stop coming out to fellowship at bible study. We are simply looking for a way to expand and share what the Lord is doing in our bible study week after week. God has been manifesting Himself differently week after week and we want to share it with every woman that wants to hear. Though we’re spreading the Word by way of this site, we still LOVE the intimacy of our group meetings. ..so please continue to come and invite someone out with you to see what God is doing!
